Battery updates on the upcoming LG G6

As the MWC 2017 comes closer, tech enthusiasts and consumers become ever so excited for the launch of many new devices from companies around the globe. Leaks and rumors regarding next-gen smartphones, tablets and other gadgets are taking the news pages by the storm. One such smartphone which the market is dearly looking forward to is the LG G6, next Flagship and the successor to LG G5.

The smartphone has been receiving many rumors and spec leaks and teasers directly from LG. Latest news from the company confirms that the new smartphone will be powered up by a large non removable 3200 mAh battery in contrast to the removable battery installed in the LG G5.

Apart from the battery being non-removable, the LG G6 battery pack is 15% larger than that installed in the G5. The smartphone will also have the Smart Doctor app which aims to increase the device safety and prevent any battery explosions. After the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, LG had increased its efforts regarding device safety and the culmination of their efforts have finally resulted in a safer, more efficient power house for the company’s upcoming flagship. The structure uses thermal conductivity and diffusion to aid in the proper dissipation of heat generated.

Moreover, the smartphone will have an IP68 waterproofing and dust resistance capabilities made possible by employing of a non-removable battery setup.

The flagship is expected to make its debut at the MWC 2017 on the 26 February alongside Samsung making this a competition worth noting. The device will reach the local market in Korea by March followed by launch in the US by April.
