Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei is reportedly planning to launch its next-generation foldable smartphone Mate X2 this year with a 120Hz display refresh rate. It may launch in October alongside the flagship Huawei Mate 40 series.

Recently, Ross Young, the founder, and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) tweeted an image with an updated list of 2020 smartphones with a 120Hz refresh rate panel. Interestingly, the list includes Huawei Mate X2, which was absent in the previous one. Moreover, the list also mentions some other upcoming smartphones such as Google Pixel 5, OnePlus 8T Pro, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, and Galaxy Fold 2. The Huawei Mate X2 is expected to have an 8.0 inches Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2200 x 2480 pixels. It may power by 5nm Octa-core Kirin 1000 Chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB storage. There could be a 4,500 mAh battery with 55W fast charging support.

On the other hand, another tipster (Teme) suggests that the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 series smartphones will come with symmetrical dual speakers to ensure better audio experience. It’s similar to that of the Mate 20X. In addition to the dual-speaker design, the Huawei Mate 20X also support Dolby Atmos. This suggests that the Mate 40 may also support this feature.
