Geekbench revealed glimpses of a new Huawei Maya smartphone

Huawei has been in the limelight for a lot of reasons. Revealing devices like the P10 and P10 Plus right after the successful marketing of the Honor series and the Mate 9, the company has been getting our attention at a relatively faster pace.

A new smartphone was recently revealed on the benchmarking website, Geekbench. Codename MYA-L03 is expected to be one of Huawei’s budget smartphones. According to the FCC website, the device might be launched as Huawei Maya.

In the Geekbench listing of the device, Maya is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow powered by the MediaTek MT6737T quad-core processor clocked at 1.44 GHz paired with a 2 GB RAM.

Pictures on the FCC suggest that the new device will have a removable back cover to sport the choice of customizable back covers. Further observation suggest a slot for microSD card for expandable storage and a SIM card slot. Camera is located at the usual upper portion of the device with an LED flashlight.

Rumors about the device suggest that it will be launched in the global markets priced at $100 - $150, making it a strong contender among the affordable smartphones available currently.

More can be expected about the device soon and it is possible that Huawei gives us more information at the upcoming press event to be held on 26 February. With the approval from FCC, the device may launch very soon in the U.S
