Samsung Galaxy A51 5G and A71 5G with quad cameras and 4,500mAh batteries launched

In line with recent rumors, Samsung has today unveiled two new mid-range phones – the Galaxy A51 5G and Galaxy A71 5G in the US. Samsung launched the 4G versions of both devices in India earlier this year. The company’s latest offerings have slightly different specs between them. However, the 5G versions of Galaxy A71 and A51 retain the same design and hardware from their 4G version. With the new handsets, Samsung is bringing 5G connectivity to its mid-range smartphones for the first time. Galaxy A51 5G has been priced starting at $500, whereas Galaxy A71 5G has been priced starting at $600. Both of these devices will go on sale in the US sometime in summer later this year. Alongside these two 5G phones, Samsung today also launched four new mid-range 4G phones under the Galaxy-A portfolio in the US. It is the Galaxy A01, A11, A21, and the standard Galaxy A51.

The Galaxy A71 5G and Samsung A51 5G flaunt 6.7-inch and 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED displays respectively. Both smartphones have a centrally-aligned Infinity-O punch-hole camera cutout. The smartphones are equipped with in-display fingerprint scanners. The A71 5G will be available in Prism Cube Black, Prism Cube Sliver, and Prism Cube Blue colors, while the A51 5G is offered in Prism Cube Black, Prism Cube White, and Prism Cube Pink hues. There is a rectangular quad-camera module on the back panel. Apart from the 64 primary sensor on the A71 5G and 48MP on the A51 5G, the camera setup on both devices comprises of 12MP+5MP+5MP sensors. On the front, the smartphones have a 32MP selfie snapper. Under the hood, the Galaxy A71 5G and A51 5G are equipped with an Octa-core processor. Both smartphones are available in 6GB and 8GB RAM options coupled with 128GB onboard storage. There is a microSD card slot for additional storage expansion up to 1TB. Like its 4G LTE counterpart, the A71 5G is also backed by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W charging. The A51 5G also has the same battery capacity, with support for 15W charging. The smartphones run Android 10 with OneUI 2.0 on top.
