The new device is going to be in metal body and certainly is provided with a finger scanner. The newly appeared device seems the other version of Redmi Note 2 Pro. The leaked image shows that the golden device is smaller than the expected Redmi Note 2 Pro and the smaller version might carry the different design. According to the Xiaomi official, there is no physical antenna present in the device. In the previously leaked images, the dual LED next to the rear sensor was visible but new images show single LED placed near to the rear camera. The leaked handset seems budget friendly device and has the regular micro USB connector instead of USB type C.
The new device can be the follower of Redmi 2, or carry some other name, there is no clear name given to the device and confusion exists on this issue. The upcoming device might be the other version of Redmi Note 2 Pro or it may be the new altogether and the device might extend the Redmi 2 line and may be called Redmi 3. We cannot say anything about the release date before time because it is the previous tradition that the company took 18 months to release the new flagship. Like other manufacturers, Xiaomi is also going to produce new devices in metal body irrespective of the price range.
