LG Announces Stream VR Headset with 1440x1280 Resolutions

LG’s forthcoming VR is powered by Valve’s SteamVR, it sets an important milestone for the growth of the industry. The company is using HTC Vive alike technology which was debuted last year. The prototype of the LG VR is revealed at Game Developers Conference and it packs some pretty impressive specifications.

The LG VR features an OLED display with 1440x1280 pixels resolution. Its resolution is higher than HTC Vive and Oculus Rift 1080x1200 screens. The LG VR handset will give a better view and it will take gaming experience to the next level. The VR is 3.64 inches diagonal, and has two panels with 1440 by 1280 resolution.

 

By the end of the weak the company will select patterns for the VR handset. After getting feedback from consumers and developers, the company will choose one design. The early model of the device was available for testing and its resolution feels pretty significant as compared to other VR in the market.

 

Richard Taylor, an assistant research engineer at LG said that, the VR will be priced similar to the existing VR headset. “It completely depends what feedback we get, but I can probably say the display will improve, the weight will probably get lighter,” added by him.

 

LG’s upcoming headset is really enjoyable and it packs a pass through the camera as well. The StreamVR gives clear, smooth, and highly detailed visual experience. It also has tracking sensors that are invisible in the headset.
