Smartphone theft is common these days internationally. Either it is a raid or a robbery the mobile vendors have to face great losses in such cases. Back in 2018, Apple iPhones worth $19,000 had robbed in New York at Apple Service Store yet in daylight. A similar situation had happened in Canada with Apple last year. You can consider how those iPhones were pricey, even a separate LCD or other spare parts are available for prices close to the iPhone itself. But could you think ever the robbers can attack Chinese smartphones which are cheap (though not quantity wise but margin)? Let’s share such a robbery case with Xiaomi Mi smartphones.

Story

A bad news from Times of India published Xiaomi suffers 1 Crore Indian Rupees ($140,000) loss as truck transporting Mi phones from Sri City to Kolkata. The truck was on its way when robbers attacked, stopped automobile, beaten driver, tied him with a tree, and let the truck go away with them. The nearby villagers, who passing through the way, abruptly found the driver tied to the tree, untied him and informed the local police.

The Indian Police is investigating. Truck was unmarked one having no sign or as a simple one, therefore, the police believe the thieves were ‘inside’ people who already knew that what was present in the vehicle. Since the truck found nearby the village, so it is consumed the thieves, which are four in numbers supposedly, were left the truck and shipped the Xiaomi mobile phones into another automobile, then run away. Indian Police is said to hope on Xiaomi India for cooperation to find out those criminals and stolen smartphones as they are suggesting them ‘inside’ ones.

The other latest news we have Xiaomi has confirmed the Mi 9  in Zimbabwe as its next flagship smartphone and the announcement scheduled for Feb 20.
