Pre-orders open for Nokia Lumia 625, release date 26 August 2013

The Nokia Lumia 625 release date has been set for the UK by the Finnish manufacturer, or so suggests a report. The handset is the largest in the Nokia Lumia series, but not the biggest amongst Windows Phones. HTC’s two Titan devices have already earned that title, but they’re from the previous generation lineup. Nevertheless, the phone is designed specifically for the mid-range segment with an aim to deliver a rich experience at an affordable cost.

The device’s arrival in the UK has been disclosed by Twitter user. While there is no confirmation if the Lumia 625 will go on sale through carriers, various retailers has already listed the handset and some are even accepting pre-orders, suggesting a possible launch for September. The device is the largest in the series, but it is not the most powerful. It has a similar appearance to the highly affordable Lumia 620 handset.

It features a 4.7-inch WVGA IPS touchscreen with super sensitive touch and Corning Gorilla Glass 2. At 9.2mm thick, the Lumia 625 is being deployed with a dual core Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage and a microSDXC card slot. There’s also a 2000mAh battery, 4G LTE as well as HSPA+ support and dual cameras, a VGA front snapper and a 5MP rear lens.

The Lumia 625 is currently available to pre-order through multiple retailers such as Expansys, Clove and Carphonewarehouse amongst others. There’s no official price as yet, but you can expect the phone to retail for around £200. It could be released on August 26.
