TSMC Wiped Out Samsung, Taiwan Company will be the only Producer of iPhone 7 processors

South Korean news The Electronic Times, exposed that the TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) has made a deal with Apple to be the only supplier of the processor which will be used in next generation iPhone. Last year Samsung and TSMC jointly provided processors for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

The report states that TSMC has wiped out the Samsung and now it is expected that TSMC will solely produce next generation chip for Apple.  In iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple used A8 chip which was produced by TSMC. At the time of chip A9 production Korean Giant Samsung came back and manufactured chip A9 by partnering with TSMC.

Last year when Apple launched iPhone 6s mobile and iPhone 6s Plus, users started to observe a difference in the performance of models using the Samsung made A9 chip and TSMC made A9 chip. According to a benchmark test video iPhone 6s with Samsung made A9 chip couldn’t perform well as compared to iPhone with TSMC made A9 chip. iPhone with TSMC made A9 chip perform better and battery life is really better than an  iPhone with Samsung made chip. Apple also commented that the battery life of among iPhone 6s models could contrast with in 2-3 percent of each other.

After giving better chip to Apple, now TSMC has won contract and the Taiwan Company will produce a next generation chip for iPhone 7 which probably will be called A10.
