Videotron Canada Carrier Offers Sony Xperia M2 Aqua On October 2nd

Sony announced the Xperia M2 Aqua in the month of August but at the time of announcement, the company did not give the information that the handset would be available in North America but now it is confirmed that the handset would also be available in North American regions as well. As per recent confirmation the handset arrives in Canada on 2nd October.

According to the resources Videotron, one of the mid level carriers will offer the handset but this is not the only network offering the handset; besides the Videotron, Rogers and other larger carriers will also offer the Xperia M2 Aqua soon in Canada. The on contract price of the handset is still not confirmed but the Videotron offers the handset on ‘off contract’ basis on the price of $250 into $300.

 Sony Xperia M2 Aqua is similar to Xperia M2. There is only one major difference found in the handset and the new handset is IP68 certified and can fight against the water and dust and can be alive for a specific time under water.

Beside the IP68 certification ability the handset specs are typical. It runs Android KitKat operating system which is commonly used now days. The smartphone has 4.8 inches display having 540 x 960 pixels resolution. Sony placed 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon processor inside the handset with 1GB of RAM and 8 GB on board memory. The on board memory can be extended via microSD card. The handset is a mid level handset so it has 8 mega pixel rear and 1.1 mega pixel front facing camera. The handset consumes the power from 2300mAh battery which is placed inside the handset. Besides these specifications the handset supports LTE connectivity as well.

 The arrival of the handset in USA is still not confirmed hopefully the handset will also hit the USA markets but when, for knowing this we have to wait for the company confirmation.
