Xiaomi Mi 5 demand Exceeds company asks Inventec and Foxconn to Augment Production

Xiaomi’s latest smartphone Mi 5 warmly welcomed in its home country China. The device acknowledged over 17 million registrations proceeding with its first flicker sale, which was the most desired marketing tactic of Chinese company and many other Asian mobile makers. The event held on 1st March at 10AM according to Beijing time.

The company kept enough units of the Xiaomi Mi 5 for sale but the smartphone sold out in few minutes. It felt like people were waiting for the device from many months and finally they got a chance to buy the handset.

The smartphone comes in three variants such as standard, high version, and special edition. The standard version comes with 3GB RAM plus 32GB storage and high version features 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. Both smartphones are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset, and they have a 5 inch screen. The Mi 5 Special version has a ceramic back, 4GB RAM, and 128GB storage. Though the special edition was not available for sale and the company will announce when this version will be available for sale.

As per Taiwan’s Economic Daily report, Xiaomi had manufactured almost 4 million Mi 5 units for its first batch of stock. It was four times lower than the demand so the Chinese company ordered its manufacturing partners Inventec and Foxconn to increase production. It will take some time to deliver all pre-orders.
