Apple acknowledges iOS 10 Security Flaws and Suggests Strong Passwords till Bugs get fixed

Last week Security Research Firm announced that it has discovered a fault in Apple’s local password protected iTunes backups in latest Operating System iOS 10. The flaw made software security system weak, the mobile maker accepted the bug and working to fix it.

In a statement an Apple Spokesperson said that "We're aware of an issue that influences the encryption power for support of devices running on iOS 10 when backing up to iTunes on the Mac or PC. We are solving this issue in a forthcoming security update”.


Apple has recommended users to make sure they have strong passwords on PC or Mac. The spoke person said that "We recommend users ensure their Mac or PC are protected with strong passwords and can only be accessed by authorized users. Additional security is also available with FileVault whole disk encryption.”


 

The research firm claims that the weak security system of iOS 10 lets hackers develop a new attack that can sidestep certain security checks when adding passwords defensive limited backups in iOS 10 devices. The iOS 10 is approximately 2,500 times weaker than iOS 9 so the company needs to fix the bug immediately.
