Honor 5A Huawei’s first Make in India Device

Chinese Company Huawei announced partnership with Flextronics to start making devices in India under Government's 'Make In India' scheme.

Flextronics has the capacity to make three million units by the end of the next year and it will produce Huawei’s Honor series devices in the company's Chennai Facility. According to a source, Flex is manufacturing an Honor 5A, which will be launched in the first week of October 2016. The smartphone has already launched in China and it comes in two variants.


The company will release both variants in India market as well. The standard Huawei Honor 5A features a 5.5 inch IPS LCD with 720 x 1280 pixels resolutions. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz octa-core Kirin 620 processor and the second variant will have octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor.


Both devices will have 2GB of RAM and 16GB native storage, expandable up to 128GB using via MicroSD card. The devices run Android Marshmallow with Emotion UI 4.1. In terms of camera, the Honor 5A has 13MP rear camera Sony OmniVision sensor and LED flash. It features accelerometer, proximity, and compass sensors. A Li-Ion 3100 mAh battery wakes the smartphone for long hours.


The smartphone comes in White, Yellow, Pink, Black, Gold, and Azure color options. The base model is available for approximately US $104 and the second variant will come with USD 119 price tag.
