Design And Display
This is well designed handset with proportionate dimensions. When we look at its image we get a good impression of it and we find it having aesthetic aspects. It measures 214 x 120 x 8.9 mm in dimensions and weighs 328 grams. Well considering the size of the screen we can imagine the size of the body thereby consider the weight quite reasonable. Still we find it a bit heavy to hold it in the hand or place it in the pocket. The handset has 8 inches display with 800 x 1280 pixels Resolutions. It is IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. Joining all the elements of design and display this seems to be a fairly well designed tablet.
Software And User Interface
This tablet Asus FonePad 8 runs Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat), the most frequently used software currently in the mobile smartphones and other such devices. The software meats the requirement of providing a smooth and efficient platform for all the applications. It has been well pride previously and meats the users expectations. It is powered with Quad-core 1.83 GHz processor having Chipset Intel Atom Z3560 with the combination of Power VR Series 6 GPU. The FonePad 8 has 1 GB RAM and in built memory with the choice of different capacity like 8/16 GB can be extendable up to 32 GB via microSD card. Here it falls short of many devices those who have the capacity of extendable memory up to 128 GB. Yet it is configured well to meet the requirement of many average users. Probably it would be popular amongst the users who would like to have bigger display and wish to enjoy the videos.
It is provided with Primary 5 Mega Pixels with 2592 х 1944 pixels resolutions. The secondary 2 Mega Pixel camera fitted in the front. The configuration of the cameras do not speak very high of them because of 5 and 2 mega pixels specifications with not very high resolutions. Probably the manufacturer has not focused on the camera aspect. Simultaneously we cannot downgraded merely by expressing our own opinion on the device manufactured with diligence and thorough consideration. It still must be having a reasonable picture quality and satisfying the photographic desire of the users.
Asus FonePad 8 is energized with a Non-removable Li-Po battery, we cannot specifically mention the capacity of the battery. It has the disadvantage of being non removable. In case of any damage to the battery may necessitate the replacement of the whole set.
