ASUS has officially confirmed that the company will be launching the much anticipated Zenfone 8 on May 12. A landing page with a countdown for the launch event is now live on ASUS’s website. While the microsite hints at the arrival of a single device, reports have claimed that the phone maker may announce as many as three ZenFone 8 series smartphones.

ASUS says that the ZenFone 8 will be “big on performance” and “compact in size.” The upcoming series may include three devices such as Zenfone 8, Zenfone 8 Pro, and a compact model known as the Zenfone 8 Mini. Recent reports have claimed that the ZenFone 8 Mini will have a codename as Sake and its model number is SUS-ZS590KS / ASUS-I006D. The ZenFone 8 Mini is expected to arrive with a 5.92-inch OLED screen that offers an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.

It will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset. On the other hand, the Zenfone 8 Pro is said to come with a 6.67-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 888, 16 GB of RAM, 64MP triple camera setup, and a 24MP selfie camera.
