When we are just a couple of weeks away from the iPhone 12 launch, the Apple manufacturing team is planning something else besides. Foxconn is known as Apple labor in China, and now the giant company is taking a forward step toward the Indian market. Foxconn has started the iPhone 11 product in Chennai Plant. Before it, iPhone SE received an astonishing response with the hype of label "Made in India". The news has been confirmed by the local Indian Apple outlets because limited units of a batch of iPhone 11 are already shipped to local mobile markets. The told story is that it will save 20% import tax and hence the iPhone 11 will be available at competitive price in India.
According to some familiar persons with Apple, Foxconn is planning to invest $1 billion for iPhone manufacturing in the Indian market. The sources explained that the Foxconn strategy is to expand outside China, and India is amidst the world’s biggest markets. Unfortunately, we don’t know when Foxconn will start this investing, or either the investment will be made at once or installments.
