While waiting for the new devices from Samsung, users may be guessing about the carriers that will market Galaxy S7 with Snapdragon 820 and the same device with Exynos 8890. It has already been in the news that Galaxy S7 will be given model number SM-G930 whereas the S7 edge carries model number SM-G935 following the example of S6 carried model number SM-G920 and the S6 edge as SM-G925, now a more granular breakdown of the model numbers has appeared. In short the CDMA carriers that will be featured with Qualcomm's most popular processor while new Samsung LTE devices will have the Exynos 8890 chipset.

Previously it was in the rumors that Samsung will produce equal number of devices using both chipsets; Snapdragon-laden and Exynos-powered Galaxy S7 handset. It is not so and the distribution given above seems more appropriate
In the case of CDMA standard, Samsung seems more inclined and determined to use Qualcomm chipset that is liked by the US carrier market and the patents in the USA. It is only an academic discussion whereas there is no comparison in merits. Both the chipsets, Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890, are well known for their best performance. Galaxy S7 will perform equally well whether equipped with Exynos 8890 or Snapdragon 820.
