The Huawei Maimang 9 5G has been officially launched in China. The 5G-enabled phone has arrived as the successor for the Kirin 710 powered Maimang 8 that debuted last year in June. Huawei Maimang 9 5G will go on sale in China on August 7. The 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant of the Maimang 9 costs 2,199 Yuan ($314) while the higher 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant costs 2,399 Yuan ($343).
The Huawei Maimang 9 5G comes with a 20:9 aspect ratio supporting display of 6.8 inches. The screen offers 1080 x 2400 pixels Full HD+ resolution and the upper-left positioned punch-hole has an f/2.0 aperture 16-megapixel selfie snapper. According to the company, the phone offers a screen-to-body ratio of 90.3 percent. For photography experience, the phone has an AI-powered triple camera setup on its back which includes a 64-megapixel primary lens, an f/2.2 aperture 8-megapixel lens with 120-degree FOV, and a2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The phone offers features like EIS, super night scene mode, and 4K video recording. There is a Dimensity 800 SoC under the hood that supports dual-mode 5G network. The EMUI 10.1 based Android 10 OS comes preloaded on the smartphone. It has a 4,300 mAh battery that can support up to 22.5W for fast charging.
