Huawei Mate 40, Mate 40 RS Porsche Design, and Mate 40 Pro announced with OLED display

After a long wait, Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro flagship smartphones have been launched today. Like every year, the Chinese tech giant also introduced Special Mate 40 RS Porsche Design. Both Mate 40 and 40 Pro smartphones come with 5G support and OLED display. The Huawei Mate 40 Porsche Design arrives in three colors - Ceramic White, Ceramic Black, and a new Collectors Edition and it is also powered by Kirin 9000 SoC.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro

The newly unveiled Mate 40 Pro flagship device features a 6.76-inch OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. The OLED panel of the device offers a resolution of 1344 x 2772 pixels and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The curved front panel also has a dual punch-hole for selfie shooters. On the back panel, it houses a quad-camera setup which includes a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture, a 12MP periscope telephoto lens with f/3.4 aperture, a 20MP ultra-wide sensor with f/1.8 aperture, and a TOF 3D sensor. There are two 13 MP, f/2.4, (wide) and TOF 3D selfie sensors. Huawei Mate 40 Pro draws power from the Kirin 9000 5G (5 nm) Chipset and runs Android 10 OS (no Google Play Services). The SoC is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. The handset has an under-display fingerprint sensor for security. The Mate 40 Pro features a 4400 mAh battery that can support up to 66W for fast charging.

Mate 40 and Mate 40 RS Porsche Design

The standard Mate 40 comes with a 6.5-inch display with 1080 x 2376 pixels resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The phone has a triple-camera setup on the backside with a 50MP main camera, an 8MP telephoto shooter, a 16MP ultra-wide lens. On the front panel, you get a dual punch-hole camera setup which includes a 13MP primary sensor and a 3D TOF shooter. Under the hood, it is powered by a Kirin 9000E 5nm processor that is coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. It packs a 4200 mAh battery with 40W quick charging support. Software-wise it runs Android 10 OS out of the box. Other features of the phone include an under-display fingerprint sensor, 5G support, and Mali-G78 GPU.

Huawei Mate 40 RS Porsche Design, on the other hand, houses 6.76 inches OLED display. The phone comes with an impressive back design. It also offers a 90Hz refresh rate. The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 40 RS has a bespoke exterior by the famous design firm. There is a Penta rear camera setup which compromises of a 50MP main lens, a 12MP telephoto, an 8 MP (periscope telephoto), a 20 MP sensor, and a TOF sensor. For selfies, it also has two cameras – 13MP main and TOF 3D lens. It also draws power from the Kirin 9000 5G Chipset. The phone comes with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB storage.
