Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei is gearing up to launch its next-generation P-series flagship smartphones, which should be Huawei P40 and P40 Pro. While the phones have been leaked in the past, both of them have now appeared on TENAA. Since the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro have been listed on the certification website TENAA, it is being speculated that the launch of the flagship smartphones is imminent. According to the TENAA listing, the Huawei P40 carries model number Huawei ANA-AN00 and ANA-TN00 while the P40 Pro carries model number ELS-AN00 and ELS-TN00. While the listing doesn’t reveal their specifications, it does confirm that both the smartphones will come with support for 5G connectivity. Since the 5G support is confirmed, we expect the devices to come powered by the company’s latest flagship chipset — Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G SoC.

As per the previous leaks, the Huawei P40 will arrive with a triple rear camera setup which will consist of a 40MP Cine (ultrawide) camera with a 1/1.5” sensor size, a 52MP primary camera with a 1/1.3” sensor size, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. On the other hand, the P40 Pro model will come with a 40MP Cine (ultrawide) camera with a 1/1.5” sensor size paired with a 52MP primary camera with a 1/1.3” sensor size. Rather than a telephoto camera, Huawei is said to adopt a periscope zoom lens like that of the Huawei P30 Pro. As Huawei is still banned from the United States, the company lacks a license to use Google Mobile Services. Hence, instead of GMS, the smartphones will come with the company’s own suite of apps named Huawei Mobile Services (HMS).
