Huawei to launch a smartwatch and smart band soon

Chinese tech giant Huawei is one of the first smartphone manufacturers that began making smart bands and smartwatches. The company is expected to launch a new smartwatch later this year which will go by the name Mate Watch. A new leak has revealed details of an upcoming Mate Watch and smart band.

According to the leaked screenshots, the Huawei Mate Watch codename is Sita. There is a placeholder image that showcases the watch has a circular dial just like Huawei’s other smartwatches. In addition a screenshot also shows the smart band with the codename “fides”. This smart band will be the successor to the Huawei Band 4/Band 4 Pro. The placeholder image for the smart band reveals the band will have a rectangular display with a circular button for navigation. The upcoming Huawei Mate Watch is expected to launch alongside the Mate 40 series in the fourth quarter of the year. A recent report revealed that the Mate Watch may run HarmonyOS rather than the custom operating system Huawei’s Watch GT and Watch GT2 watches run.
