The charging speeds on smartphones are increasing day by day with the invention of newer and fast-charging technologies. OPPO confirmed that it will be launching the 125W super flash charge technology on Wednesday. However, rival brand iQOO suddenly unveiled its 120W Ultra-Fast charging technology today. The new charging tech from the brand can completely charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 15 minutes.

iQOO confirms that the new tech will go to mass production soon and the company will launch its first smartphone compatible with 120W fast charging in August. Currently, the iQOO 3 5G has the most advanced fast-charging technology among the iQOO smartphones. The device utilizes the 55W SuperFlash Charge 2.0 which is able to bring the battery level from 0 to 50% within a short span of 15 minutes. The latest 120W FlashCharge technology, however, is able to deliver a full charge from 0 to 100% within the same 15 minutes time frame. Similarly, a 5 minutes charge will be sufficient to bring the device from 0 to 50%. Phones featuring the 120W ultra-fast charging will come with super VC liquid cooling technology to regulate the internal temperature. With charging speeds going over 100W now, the impact on the battery health might be a concern. We will have to wait and see how the smartphone makers will solve the same.
