Korean Media discloses the Reason Why Galaxy S6 not having Snapdragon 810

It is hot topic in the media that Galaxy S6, to be introduced in MWC 2015 is not going to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. Previously it was believed that Snapdragon 810 would be part of configuration of Samsung Galaxy S6 but now Qualcomm 810 is not going to find the place is Galaxy S6 because of its over heating problem.

Presently Samsung  is planning to put its own developed processor Exynos 7420 in place of Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. They believe that their own processor would be able to compete with Qualcomm and would be an indigenous product as part of their own flagship.

Exynos 7420 processor is still in process of test and trail and uses 14 nanometer manufacturing process whereas Qualcomm 810 uses 20mm process and it has been found that Exynos 7420 perform better and faster and has its own LTE modem. This step would eliminate dependence on Qualcomm.

So far Samsung is using Exynos processors is part of Samsung’s own produced smartphones and is likely to provided to others also. Over heating problem of Qualcomm 810 will reduce its usage in other smartphone as well and will only be in use 10% of its current usage. Reset of the smartphones will be equipped with Samsung’s own processors. Exynos will probably push Qualcomm 810 out of the market.
