Motorola Edge S unveiled with SDM 870 and 5,000 mAh battery

Motorola has today officially announced its new 5G phone - Motorola Edge S with recently-launched Snapdragon 870 SoC. The handset comes in two color options such as Silver and Blue. The pre-bookings have already begun in China, and the first sale will take place on the 3rd of February.

In terms of design, the Motorola Edge S is very similar to the Moto G 5G and some other recently launched phones from the brand, especially from the rear. The cameras are placed in a square design, and the fingerprint sensor is available on the right side. On the front, there are dual selfie cameras. The USB Type-C port is placed on the bottom alongside the 3.5mm headphone jack and the speaker grill.

The Motorola Edge S has a 6.7-inch LCD display with FHD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and HDR10. Under the hood, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 Chipset, which is paired with 6GB or 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It has a quad-camera setup comprising a 64MP CMOS primary sensor, 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth shooter, and a ToF lens. The smartphone supports up to 6K video recording at 30fps. You’ll get 16MP and 8MP selfie sensors. The handset also comes with a Multi-Screen Collaboration feature and Android 11 OS. The Motorola Edge S packs a 5,000mAh battery with 20W fast charging support.
