David Schuster Motorola's senior director of software product management David Schuster made the announcement in a post on Google+ “Company knows how significant software upgrades are to our customers, but we are very regretful that we are incapable to provide the upgrades”.

In addition, Schuster said that the company is compensating for this by offering Droid Turbo 2, and Droid Maxx 2 on discount for DROID Mini, Droid Ultra, and Droid Maxx users. Droid Turbo 2 will be available in $524 after $100 off, while Droid Maxx 2 will be available on $334 after $50 off.
