A mysterious OnePlus phone with model number KB2001 has appeared on Geekbench 5 benchmarking platform. This is the first time we’re coming across this particular model; the listing shows OnePlus KB2001 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC (that has the codename Kona).

The phone is appeared to have an 8GB of RAM. The Android OS is mentioned as Android 11. We have not seen any smartphone with Android 11 on Geekbench so far apart from a few Google Pixel phone listings (which could be internal testing). This means there’s a possibility it could be the OnePlus 8T smartphone that is expected to launch later this year in October/ November. While it has the same processor as the OnePlus 8, it should pack upgrades in other areas such as the cameras, battery capacity, and fast charging technology. The choice of using the Snapdragon 865 rather than the Snapdragon 865 Plus may be to keep the price tag down. The handset has managed to score 912 points in the single-core test and 3288 in the multi-core test, respectively.

We are a few months away from the official release of the OnePlus 8T for sure but we have already started getting a few key details on this series. A recent reveal from the Camera APK teardown suggested that the OnePlus 8T series could have a 64MP primary camera sensor. This sensor is expected to offer higher resolution and capture finer details in well-lit areas. The teardown also hinted that the ‘Burst mode’ feature of the camera will be disabled while using the 64MP sensor.
