Qualcomm has launched the Snapdragon 732G Mobile Platform as a successor to the Snapdragon 730G chipset from last year. The chipmaker is highlighting improvements to gaming, faster artificial intelligence (AI), and upgraded GPU and CPU performance compared to the previous generation. POCO has announced that it will be the first brand to unveil a phone with Snapdragon 732G SoC.
Snapdragon 732G is an octa-core processor equipped with Kyro 470 processing cores with a clock speed of up to 2.3GHz. The Adreno 618 GPU on the chipset is faster than the previous-generation. The SoC is developed on Samsung’s 8nm LPP process. It also brings Snapdragon Elite Gaming and 4th-generation Qualcomm AI Engine that offers “intuitive interactions and predictive user experiences with distributed intelligence twice as powerful as previous generations.” For connectivity, the Snapdragon 732G SoC has a Qualcomm Snapdragon X15 LTE modem (doesn’t have 5G). And like any modern smartphone chipset, it supports voice assistants and voice commands.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G is Wi-Fi 6-ready, supports Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and USB 3.1. In the camera department, Snapdragon 732G can support dual cameras of up to 22MP resolution. It also comes with support for HDR10, 4K videos, QHD+ display resolution, and Quick Charge 4+. Kedar Kondap, Vice President of Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies said, “Snapdragon 732G will deliver a powerful gaming experience, sophisticated on-device AI, and superior performance. We’re excited to work with POCO on the new POCO smartphone powered by the enhanced Snapdragon 732G globally.”
