Realme 8 5G launched with Dimensity 700 and 48MP triple camera setup

As promised, Chinese tech giant Realme finally unveiled its new Realme 8 5G phone in Thailand. The affordable 5G phone comes with a design similar to the Realme 8 4G that was launched in India last month. The smartphone is up for pre-orders from today on Shopee, Lazada, JD, and This Shop and will go on sale on May 3.

Realme 8 5G

Realme 8 5G has a 6.5-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 600 nits peak brightness. The handset is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Notably, the phone supports Dynamic RAM Expansion that increases the phone’s RAM capacity by using internal storage. Software-wise, the device runs on Realme UI 2.0 based on the latest Android 11.

The phone arrives with a triple camera setup that includes a 48MP primary sensor, a macro lens, and a mono lens. There is a 16MP camera for selfies and video calls. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication. Realme 8 5G has 8.5mm thickness and 185 grams weight. The handset packs a 5,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging.
