Android wearables are getting popular among the users day by day and the wearable is capturing the markets easily. Samsung is still conducting different experiments to provide many features in this really small and mini wearable device.
After the Mobile World Conference Samsung released the smartwatch named “Gear 2”. This is the typical Android based smartwatch, but now company recently introduced a new wearable named “Gear S” and amazingly this is not the trendy Android wearable. The smartwatch runs “Tizen”. Samsung’s own designed operating system. However, this is not the first wearable of Samsung running Tizen operating system.
The device is mini and easy to wear, but Samsung puts many features in it. This smartwatch offers 3G connectivity and with this 3G connectivity device worked separate itself without attaching another device. The smartwatch allow the users to receive and answer the emails and connect with the social network, even they are away from their handset. The smartwatch does not need to pair with the smartphone. With Galaxy Gear S users can make and receive calls by wearing this device on their wrist. The other smart watches did not offer these features.
The make and design of this wearable are comfortable more than ever. The wrist watch has a 2.0 inches curved display. The shape is trendy and the device comes in rectangle shape like other wearables so the device wrap on the wrist easily. The screen of the wearable device is made up with super AMOLED having 360 x 480 pixels resolution. The watch runs 1.0GHz dual core processor along with 512 MB of RAM which makes the smartwatch really smart. The smartwatch is powered by 300mAh battery which gives 2 days backup to the smartwatch. This is not enough Samsung provides 4 GB in- built memory inside the smartwatch and the watch is certified with IP67. It means the watch has dust and water proof ability.
Besides the hardware Samsung provides good software combination. The Gear S has a health and fitness feature like S health integration and Nike+ Running. Both features worked with active using built in sensor.
Samsung try to leave the Android platform for their smart watches and try to build their own designed software platform in the form of Gear S with curved display and 3G connectivity. Hopefully Gear S will get popular among the users in very short time.
