Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 unveiled yesterday at MWC 2016 in Barcelona. Both devices resemble to last year flagship Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Let’s figure out what new came in both devices.
Display and Design
Galaxy S7 features a 5.1 inch and Galaxy S7 Edge comes with 5.5 inch Super AMOLED with Quad HD (1440 x 2560) resolution.Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge larger and wider than Galaxy S7 but obviously it carries more features than flagship. Both devices have sleek glass backs which look stunning and you can use device comfortably. Whereas both smartphones made of glass so they grab fingerprints as well.
The Android Marshmallow 6.0 and new TouchWiz make device unique as compare to last year models. Noticeably with the updated Android operating system, both mobiles have new features, new notifications interface, and battery improvements. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge both have Always On display that adds an awesome look to the mobiles.
Both devices come with water resistant feature it means if you drop your mobile in water it won’t damage and you will be able to use your device even in the rain. You can put your device in up to 3 feet deep fresh water for as long as an hour, apart from that the company doesn’t recommend you to perform it.
Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge that is available in the US run Snapdragon 820, while international models are powered by homemade Eynos 8890 system chip. In the terms of performance there is no difference in both chips. The mobiles have 4GB RAM and 32GB internal memory which can be enhanced via MicroSD card. There is also noticeable thing that 64Gb model of both mobiles will be available in other countries except US.
The company made noticeable improvements in the camera section so both smartphones feature a 12 MP rear camera with larger individual pixels wider f/1.7 lens, and optical image stabilization. Unique feature of the camera is that it comes with motion panorama, and motion picture similar to iPhone 6s live photos. Both devices also come with a built-in cool new hyper lapse video recording mode and you can record 4K video with your phone.
With different sizes, both devices feature different batteries such as Galaxy S7 comes with 3,000mAh battery and Galaxy S7 Edge has a 3,600mAh battery. Wireless charging and quick charging feature makes battery advanced. We also heard in millions of rumors that Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will sport USB Type-C but it didn’t come along with the device.
