Samsung has announced the flagship Chipset Exynos 990 for the next flagship phones. The chipset has a new GPU, supports up to 120Hz display refresh rate, and faster performance, and it also offers 5G connectivity.

Samsung constructed Exynos 990 SoC on a 7nm EUV processor, and it is 20% faster and more power-efficient over its predecessors, Exynos 9820 and Exynos 9825.

Samsung claims that this chipset can calculate ten-trillion operations only in one second, and it can supports memory bandwidth with LPDDR5 data rates and up to 108MP primary camera resolution. In terms of tri-cluster CPU configuration, Exynos 990 has eight cores (2+2+4) and paired with 2x Cortex-A76 cores and 4x Cortex-A55 cores. Samsung has replaced the Mali-G76 MP12 GPU of Exynos 9820 with a new Mali-G77 MP11 GPU, so this GPU provides a 20% faster performance. Furthermore, Exynos 990 Chipset has a new Digital Signal Processor (DSP) for better performance, and the display will be able to supports 4k UHD resolution.
