Samsung has quietly announced a brand new 5G smartphone – Samsung Galaxy A42 5G – which shapes up to be the most affordable 5G smartphone in Samsung’s portfolio so far. Alongside the Galaxy A42 5G smartphone, the company also launched Galaxy Tab A7 2020 and Galaxy Fit2 smartband.
Galaxy A42 5G
Samsung has not revealed the complete specifications of the Galaxy A42 5G but it did confirm some features. The smartphone has a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display and renders show the phone has a waterdrop notch at the front and a square-shaped quad rear camera setup. The official Samsung Galaxy A42 5G render also shows off a unique gradient finish at the back. While the resolution is yet to be confirmed, the phone will likely offer an FHD+ screen much like its predecessor, the Galaxy A41. We also don’t see any physical fingerprint sensor, which suggests the phone will come with an in-display sensor.

Samsung Galaxy Fit2 is Samsung’s latest affordable smartband. Standing against the likes of the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5, the Fit2 has a 1.1” AMOLED with 3D curved glass, heart rate sensor, and a rather big 159 mAh battery. The smartband will be available in either Black or Scarlet and Samsung promises it can go between 15 and 21 days on a single charge, depending on usage.
Galaxy Tab A7 2020
The newly announced Samsung Tab S7 2020 is equipped with a 10.4-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2000 by 1200 pixels and four speakers that support Dolby Atmos. The Tab A7 features a metallic finish at the back. The Galaxy Tab A7 is powered by the Snapdragon 662 processor, which has four Cortex-A73 performance cores clocked at 2GHz and four power-efficient Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The device comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB and 64GB storage options. There’s a microSD slot for storage expansion, with support for up to 1TB cards. Under the hood, it has a 7,040 mAh battery that doesn’t support any form of fast charging. Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 2020 comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The tablet runs One UI 2.5 based on Android 10 OS.
