Samsung W21 5G foldable smartphone goes official with SDM 865+ SoC

In November 2019, Samsung launched the Galaxy W20 5G foldable phone in China. It was a Chinese variant of the Galaxy Fold, and was exclusively made available through the China Telecom operator in the country along with bundled premium services for its customers. Today (4-Nov-20), Samsung announced the W21 5G foldable smartphone in China. It is a rebranded version of Samsung Z Fold 2 which was unveiled in August.

Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G, the Samsung W21 5G has a more premium design. The Glitter Gold colored glass rear of the device features a wave-like textured pattern. The Samsung W21 5G comes with a primary 7.6-inch Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X Panel on the inside with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 6.23-inch secondary Super AMOLED panel on the outside. There is Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SoC, 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The triple camera setup on the rear includes a primary 12-megapixel shooter with OIS and 1.8-micron pixel size, a secondary 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2X Optical Zoom and OIS, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera with 123-degree FOV. It has a 4,500mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging and 11W wireless charging. It has a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
