Vivo S9 confirmed to launch on March 3, appeared on TENAA

After weeks of leaks, Vivo finally announced that it will launch its new S series phone – Vivo S9 on March 3. The smartphone series will be first introduced in China and is likely to be rolled out in other markets soon. Additionally, the upcoming Vivo S9 (V2072A) has also received TENAA certification that reveals some key specs.

Vivo took Weibo to share the release date for Vivo S9 in China. The teaser video shows tag-lines like “Illuminating My Beauty” and “Very Night Soft Light Selfie”, which indicates that the company is focusing on the front-facing camera technology. Unfortunately, the company is yet to reveal information on its specifications. Rumors claim that the Vivo S9 5G will be the first phone to come with 6nm Dimensity 1100 chipset.

As per the TENAA listing, the Vivo S9 will have a V2072A model number and 158.39 x 73.87 x 7.35mm dimensions. It will also come with a 6.44-inch display, a 3905 mAh battery, and Android 11 OS. The images of the Vivo S9 have not appeared at TENAA. However, its Google Play Console listing revealed it would have the same front design as the predecessor Vivo S7 5G smartphone. It may also come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage.
