The Hot S3 OS is polished with an XOS 3.0 overlay which represents Infinix. The MIUI of Redmi Y1 is better than XOS interface of Infinix but the Infinix Hot S3 is still first in software comparison due to main Android 8.0 (Oreo) OS.

Snapdragon 430 vs Snapdragon 435

Performance wise, Xiaomi Redmi Y1 is better because of slightly upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset. It is aided by 3GB RAM and 1.4GHz octa-core processor. On the other hand, Infinix Hot S3 is powered by the same 3GB RAM and 1.4GHz octa-core processor but there is downgraded Snapdragon 430 chipset.
