Earlier this month, Samsung launched the Galaxy M21 with a 6,000 mAh battery and a 48MP triple camera setup. Today (30-March), the South Korean brand has introduced a new device in its 2020 M-series smartphones called the Galaxy M11. Say Hello to Samsung Galaxy M11 which arrives as the successor to last year’s Galaxy M10, and packs significant upgrades. The Galaxy M11 has been listed on Samsung’s official website in UAE. Prior to launch, the smartphone’s renders and full specifications were also leaked online. The availability date of the entry-level smartphone hasn’t been revealed yet, but the device will be available across retail stores in the country. Samsung Galaxy M11 costs $140 for the sole variant.

Design and Display

The Galaxy M11 has a plastic body and looks as good as it feels. Black, Metallic Blue, and Violet color options add a modern twist to the fashionably simple frame. The smooth curves of the symmetrical side design let you grip the phone comfortably in your hand for easy screen navigation. The Galaxy M11 features a polycarbonate rear shell. There is a punch-hole at the top left corner on the front panel for the front-facing camera, and the front side also coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. You’ll get a vertically shaped triple camera setup on its rear panel, and an LED flash is held at the right side of this camera module. Samsung Galaxy M11 features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner that enables you to log on to supported apps and unlock your device with ease. You can also unlock the phone with ease and keep your data safe with Galaxy M11’s Face Recognition technology. It enables you to unlock your phone with a glance and protect your personal data. In terms of dimensions, the phone measures 161.4 x 76.3 x 9 mm, and its weight is 197 grams.

Let’s talk about the display of the phone, Samsung M11 houses a 6.4 inch Infinity-O LCD display that provides HD+ resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 268 PPI density. Samsung stated that “Expand your world of entertainment. Galaxy M11 features a 6.4" HD+ Infinity-O Display that provides edge-to-edge coverage to enjoy all your favorite gaming and video content, and Infinity-O Display pulls you into the action.”

Front and rear cameras

The rear side of the Galaxy M11 has a triple camera setup. It comprises of an f/1.8 aperture 13-megapixel primary lens, an f/2.2 aperture 5-megapixel superwide sensor with a field of view of 115 degrees and an f/2.4 aperture depth sensor for portrait shots. The phone offers camera features like Live Focus and 30fps full HD video recording.

Samsung Galaxy M11’s Triple Camera adds more perspectives to elevate your shots. The 13MP Main Camera takes clear images day and night. A 5MP Ultra Wide Camera captures more of the world in front of you, while the 2MP Depth Camera highlights the subject of your photo by blurring the background. The company claims that “the 77-degree wide-angle and 115-degree ultra-wide-angle capture the scene as you see it, so you won't miss the moment from where you stand. Now it's even easier to get a great panorama.” The 2MP depth camera with f/2.4 aperture lets you adjust the depth of field before and after you nail the shot. It reduces unwanted background noise from your images to make them look more professional.

The punch-hole present at the upper-left corner of the display houses an f/2.0 aperture 8-megapixel selfie camera. You can capture the best angles with Samsung M11's 8MP front camera. Use Live focus to gently blur the background, so all eyes are on you, and get your good side whether you're at a café or at the park. The front can record only Full HD videos at 30fps.

Battery, software, and Chipset

Under the hood, Samsung M11 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 mobile platform. A powerful Octa-core processor (which is clocked at 1.8GHz) coupled with 3/4GB of RAM can handle your graphics-heavy games and live streams at fast speeds. With 32/64GB of internal memory and up to 512GB of external storage, you have plenty of room to stream, download, and post. There is an Adreno 506 GPU. As for the software, it runs One UI 2.0 based on the Android 10 operating system. There are some basic apps such as Duo, Google Chrome, YouTube, Video Player, File Manager, Calendar, Themes, Google Maps, and Google Drive. The phone also has a Samsung Member app.

“The Interactive diagnostics and optimization on Samsung Members app make it easy to tune up the performance of your devices, while our helpline lets you troubleshoot problems when you need the extra assistance,” Samsung said. Whether you are watching movies or video chatting, you need a phone that can keep up. Samsung M11's 5,000mAh battery lets you spend more time doing what you love, while up to 15W Fast Charging capability delivers more charge in less time.
