Design and Display
It does not have a unique design but resembles quite a few others; has taken some guidance from Apple iPad mini 2 particularly screen size, resolutions and controls way out. This Mi Pad 7.9 body is plastic made and does not give a very impressive look. In physical sizes it is 202x135.4x8.5 mm with rounded corners and has 360 grams weight. In the interface it has a lock screen, showing wall paper, time and date and sweep to unlock commands. The operating system of Mi Pad 7.9 is much different than Mi3 and Mi4. The home screen of the tablet is presented in two parts; one on the right is for application program and one on the left is for widgets. They are not too many available but are only limited to 5. However this short coming is made up by the software updates continuously provided. However Android is a tested and most frequently used operating system in the smartphones and other such devices like tablets and ipads. Here too we find Android working in the Mi Pad 7.9.
Processor and Memory
Apparently this is a very slim device but inside it contains a universe of technology. The inside components are marvelous. It is equipped with a 2.2GHz quad-core CPU from NVIDIA, a 192 core ULP GeForce Kepler GPU. This is a competent processor to obey your commands and find you what you want. The ipad is loaded with a powerful 2GB RAM. A necessary accompaniment of processor is memory. Mi Pad 7.9 is fully armed with all requirements and has integral memory in two options; you can choose 16GB or 64GB. It can further be enhanced using microSD card and add further 128GB to your ipad. This is large space for any activity.
Protection
The tablet screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It keeps the face of the Mipd always free of scratches and any danger of getting damages by any accidental mishandling. This is wonderful invention; it is glass but practically unbreakable and free of any marks and will always retain its glossy look and clear transparency.
The 7.9in size serves as a borderline between tablet and extra large smartphone. The size is really wonderful for viewing the pictures and for that you need to take pictures. A good screen and excellent stereo speakers suggest the Mipad as good reason to be equipped with decent photographic components and it should have credentials to satisfy the desire of the users in photography.
The MiPad7.9 is fitted with an 8 megapixel rear camera capable of 1080p recording and a 5 megapixel front facing camera. The rear camera has the ability to capture pictures in rich colors but there is a problem of large amount of image noise, therefore details do not look as good. It does not have flash and HDR mode causing not so good results in dim environments. Here we are compelled to comment that cameras seem to fill the place of a component than to really provide for a good shooter. Users may feel disappointed on this account. It is not peculiar with this Mipad only; most are like that. Like most tablets then, the MiPad’s cameras are more of a contingency plan than your primary shooter.
The tablet is energized by a powerful battery of 6700mAh. This seems to be a very powerful battery to run all apps on the ipad and enjoy all the features of the ipad. It is sufficient for 11 hours talk time on multimedia but we do not know about standby time. However you can enjoy music for 86 hours.
It does not seem to be a costly ipad. The price of the Mipad 7.9 is 236 USD. It places the ipad in mid range and not a very high end device.
Users Expectations
The users may find software on the MiPad inferior to what it is claimed and other smartphones. There is a complaint in its smooth connectivity as well. Comparing it with other devices like Nexus 7, it is cheaper, and there are reasons for this lower price. It may put users in doubt.
However Xiaomi Mipad is in the market and competing well with others and there are users who love to have this device only. It is more a matter of choice than our commentary.
