Are you excited to know either you should choose Redmi Note 7 or Galaxy M20? Both the smartphones are affordable having a similar price, but they present great differences in the specs sheet.
Redmi Note 7 Pros on Galaxy M20
Galaxy M20 Pros on Redmi Note 7
IPS LCD Vs PLS TFT Display
Design wise, the Redmi Note 7 and Galaxy M20 are alike each other. The Xiaomi handset has tiny U-shaped notch, but the Samsung phone has V-shaped notch of similar size and place on the front. They have 6.3inches screen, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 1080x2340 pixels resolution, and even same 409 PPI density. The difference we found is the Redmi Note 7’s IPS LCD Display which is better in viewing angles than PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen of Galaxy M20. The color saturation you may find better in Xiaomi smartphone rather than Samsung.
Samsung M20 back is made of plastic while front using a metal frame with no protection, but the Redmi device is fully fabricated with plastic and having Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and rear sides.
Xiaomi handset measures 159.2 x 75.2 x 8.1 mm dimensions whereas the Samsung handset measures 156.4 x 74.5 x 8.8 mm dimensions (height, width, and thickness). Both have an equal 186 grams weight.
MIUI 10 Vs Experience 9.5 OR Android 9.0 Vs 8.1
Coming to the OS, the Redmi Note 7 runs MIUI 10 on the top of Android 9.0 (Pie) whereas the Galaxy M20 runs Experience 9.5 on top of Android 8.1 (Oreo).
The MIUI 10 and Android 9.0 are the latest and the top-end line platforms. On the other hand, Galaxy M20’s Experience UI 9.5 is the latest but not the Android Oreo. Therefore, you might not found some of the newer software updates in Samsung smartphone. Otherwise, both OS are superb and fully customized for consumer convenience.
13MP Vs 8MP Selfie Camera
The selfie has become everyone’s desire, and both the giant mobile companies are not neglecting its significance. The Redmi Note 7 features a 13MP Front Camera having f/2.2 aperture while the Galaxy M20 sports 8MP Front Camera f/2.0 aperture. The Xiaomi phone gives a better zooming perspective view for images while the Samsung cell phone offers brighter and sharper results for selfies. Bokeh mode of Redmi is really excellent but with the portrait mode, you might face over color saturation which looks not fair. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy M20 played well for bokeh and portrait modes.
Both the gadgets support AI beauty, HDR and FHD video calling at 30fps.
48MP Vs 13MP Photography Camera
The camera is our beloved department when reviewing. The Redmi Note 7 brings ultra-high 48MP main camera whereas the Galaxy M20 boasts 13MP primary shooter. This is the segment where the Xiaomi mobile phone significantly beat the Galaxy M. The Redmi Note 7 lets you experience flagship-level photography at the competitive price range. With the wider f/1.8 aperture of Redmi phone, you can capture pretty good shots in daylight. In low-light places, you can turn on HDR mode which helps you to maintain the white balance. On the other hand, the Galaxy M20 with an f/1.9 aperture lens captures the good contrast photos which make you feel some dark parts of the image in low-light conditions even HDR turned on. When using the AI power of Redmi Note 7, you can shoot 12MP standard photographs good enough to share with friends.
Both the smartphones have a 5MP secondary sensor, but the depth details are nicely recorded by a Samsung mobile phone.
Video Recording: Redmi Note 7 supports EIS and allows you to create Full HD videos at 30, 60 and even 120 fps to offer you an amazing shooting experience. However, the Galaxy M20 doesn’t support EIS and can make FHD videos at only 30fps.

4000mAh Vs 5000mAh Battery
Luckily, both Xiaomi and Samsung smartphones have durable batteries. The Redmi Note 7 houses a Non-removable Li-Po 4000mAh Battery which delivers up to 32 hours 3G Talk Time, 14 hours of web-browsing and 13 hours of video playback.
