Apple Initiates Selling Refurbished iPhone Units on its Online Stores

Previous rumors turn to be true; Apple has started refurbished iPhones through its US online store. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available for purchase and the sale will begin from Tuesday.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple is selling refurbished smartphones for the first time in its online stores. Apple usually used renewed devices as replacements for consumers, or sold them through third-party resellers, the report mentions.

A refurbished smartphone is normally one that come back by a user after purchase because of product dissatisfaction, or any manufacturing fault, and is returned in agreement to Apple’s 14 day return policy.

iPhones available for sale on the Apple’s page are tested by the manufacturer, come with a brand new battery and exterior, carry one year warranty just like a brand new iPhone. These iPhones are unlocked and not bound with any telecom operator.

Usually, in many countries where Apple’s online store is present, the firm will sell its refurbished iPads, Macs, and iPods. At present, refurbished iPhones are only available in the US via online stores. Currently, there’s no information about the refurbished devices’ availability in other stores.

The refurbished iPhone 6s would be $100 cheaper than a brand new iPhone 6s 32Gb model, similarly the iPhone 6s Plus 64GB unit is available for $589 that is $60 cheaper than a new iPhone 6s Plus 32GB model. After launching iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple discounted iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus 16GB and 64GB variants. The discount can vary from one state to another in US due to tax.
