Oppo is soon going to unveil the Find X2 as a successor variant of Find X that was announced in June 2018. Recently, a reliable tipster from China revealed that Sony would launch the Sony IMX689 and IMX708 sensors in the coming days. He shared some details on the specs of the IMX708 sensor and said it is a customized sensor. Companies like Huawei, OPPO, and OnePlus are also expected to use the sensor on its upcoming smartphones. The tipster (Digital Chat Station) speculated that the Oppo Find X2 (that is likely to launch in Q1 this year) could be one of the first device to feature the Sony IMX708 lens. According to the leaker, the size of the Sony IMX708 sensor could be around 1/1.3 inch, and it could be able to capture images up to 48-megapixel like the Sony IMX586 lens.

On the other hand, the Huawei P40 series is expected to launch in March with 52MP primary sensors. Hence, it seems that the OPPO Find X2 could be the best candidate to feature the Sony IMX708 48-megapixel lens on the rear and a Sony IMX616 32-megapixel selfie snapper. Additionally, the Vice President of OPPO Brian Shen also hinted that the Find X2 would have an exclusive custom sensor. The Oppo Find X2 is expected to have a Snapdragon 865 Chipset (NSA & SA dual-mode 5G support), 6.5 inches curved AMOLED display, and an under-display fingerprint sensor.
