LG Velvet, the redesigned smartphone from South Korean tech giant LG, has been in the news for a while now owing to leaks and teasers. Now the company shared date for its unveiling, May 7, through a video invitation. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the launching must be mindful of social distancing, to avoid the spread of coronavirus. Therefore, the unveiling of the LG Velvet will be an online event and LG said it will be “a fashion show that boasts innovative designs.” The announcement was made via a short teaser video on LG Korea's YouTube channel and the official website. The company announced details of the online event, as well as the four color options of the LG Velvet.
Talking about the new video, it showcases the beautiful camera setup that exists on the LG Velvet. LG Velvet as the name suggests is a symbol for its elegant design. LG Velvet will have a raindrop camera setup, which is a triple camera setup. In the footage, LG has also hinted at the color options that will be coming for LG Velvet. The colors include Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Aurora Green, and Illusion Sunset. The only confirmed specification as of now is the Snapdragon 765G chipset which means the smartphone will be supporting 5G. The display is said to be around a 6.7-inch or 6.9-inch OLED screen with an in-display fingerprint reader. It will have a 4000 mAh battery and a triple rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor.
