Alcatel 5V Specs, Features, Release Date and Pricing Details
Recently, TCL unveiled an affordable smartphone, The Alcatel 5V which is the first Alcatel device to get a notched display. It has a 6.2 inches touchscreen, 19:9 aspect ratio, HD+ resolution, Android 8.1 (Oreo), 8MP Selfie Camera, Face Unlock, Google lens, AI-powered Dual 12MP + 2MP Rear Optics, Helio P22 chipset, 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, and 4000mAh Battery.
Release Date
Alcatel reported that the Alcatel 5V will be launched later in July. The sales will start in August.
Price
Alcatel has revealed the price of 5V. It will be available for $199.

Design, Display, and OS
Alcatel 5V looks elegant. It is crafted with metal frame, measures 153.7 x 74.55 x 8.5 mm dimensions and 158 grams weight. There is a big screen, 88% screen-to-body ratio, a top-notch, a trivial bezel at the bottom, and 2.5D Dragontrail glass. It has an IR emitter, a dual back camera setup, and a rear fingerprint scanner. The gadget is offered in black and blue body colors.
The Smartphone houses a 6.2-inch IPS LCD Display, 19:9 aspect ratio, 720 x 1500 pixels resolution and 268 ppi density which is significantly low for such a big screen. It runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Alcatel custom user interface on top.
AI Camera, Google Lens, and Face Unlock
Alcatel 5V comes with stunning camera technology. There is 12MP + 2MP Dual AI-powered Camera Setup which enables AI Scene Detection, Burst Shot, HDR, real-time bokeh, and electronic image stabilization to boost your experience. It is assisted with Google Lens which helps you to identify and find out more info about the pointed object through the camera app.
The handset gets an 8MP Selfie Camera which comes with face beautification, video filters, real-time photo, and a new feature called Social Mode e.g. Instant Collage, Photo Booth, and Easy Share.
In addition, the Alcatel 5V supports Face Unlock which recognizes 106 facial points and unlocks handset just in 0.5 seconds.
Hardware and Storage
The Alcatel 5V is powered by Mediatek Helio P22 (MT6762) chipset paired with Power VR GPU. It is aided by Octa-core 2.0GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and 3GB RAM to deliver smooth performance. The device packs 32GB inbuilt storage which can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.
It is expected that Alcatel will launch soon another variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM.
Coming to the battery, there is a Li-Ion 4000mAh non-removable power source under the hood. It gives a long-lasting time for talking, playing and watching. Unfortunately, it doesn’t allow fast charging.
Connectivity
Alcatel 5V is a Dual SIM device, runs 3G and 4G LTE bands, and supports Bluetooth v4.2, wifi, GPS, NFC, FM radio, and micro USB.
