HTC had the tough year of 2015, had financial hardships and there was a change in their leadership and was not in good shape. Like a good entrepreneur it searched out the desired change. The company has developed and launched a new flagship with some basic changes speaking of the change in its philosophy. It is launched HTC ONE A9, though not more powerful than its One M9. The new smartphone definitely will bring HTC out of its difficulties.
Design and Display
HTC One A9 is made in the metal unibody in a beautiful design making it an impressive piece of art. In dimensions, it measures 145.75 x 70.8 x 7.26 mm and weighs 143 grams. It has a good 5 inches AMOLED display along with the fingerprint sensor at the bottom of the screen. HTC has used fingerprint scanner which is something new in the HTC devices. It has thick bezels and takes quite some space from its front look. We can say the screen is only 67% of the total front look. It is well protected and fully covered with by a 2.5D gorilla glass 4. It is presented in four colors; Gray, Silver, Topaz Gold and Deep Garnet.
OS, UI, Processor, and Memory
HTC One A9 operates on Android Marshmallow operating system combined with HTC’s own UI called Sense which supports granular app permissions, native fingerprint support, Google Now on Tap, and Doze mode which saves the battery life. It does not claim to have a powerful processor and it is equipped with 64-bit midrange class Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset paired with octa core processor with four cores having the speed of 1.5 GHz, and the other 4 – at 1.2 GHz. There are two capacities available in RAM 2GB and 3GB and has again twice option in an internal memory 16 GB and 32 GB and has the microSD card slot for increasing the memory externally.
HTC changed their path and did not use UltraPixel rear camera in their new device. The HTC ONE A9 is armed with 13 MP rear shooter with Optical image stabilization for all conditions of light. The camera is comparable to any good camera in the competition. It has Pro mode, granting the user control over ISO, shutter speed, and white balance features for perfect photography. The RAW images produced by this camera can be edited to user’s choice. The front-facing is based upon 4 MP and it is UltraPixel which allow the users to capture quality selfies.
The device is powered with Non-removable Li-Ion 2150 mAh battery which is well enough for whole day use. The battery provides 432 hours standby time on 3G to the users and gives 16 hours talk time in 3G and provides 60 hours music play to the users. The handset also supports rapid charging feature which is possible only with Quick charger 2.0.
The handset just took the official place and will be available in the first week of November globally. The price will be available soon at the time of availability.
