OnePlus 3T Review: early Upgrade
Just after 4 months of the OnePlus 3 announcement, the company launched an upgraded version of the device, the OnePlus 3T. There are a few similarities and differences between OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. Let’s find out how the company improved latest variant.
OnePlus 3T Release Date and Price
OnePlus 3T was launched on November 16 with improved processor, front camera and enhanced storage. The smartphone is up for preorders via O2 in UK while OnePlus 3T will be released in Europe on November 28. You have to pay £417.99/USD 519.74 for the 64GB variant or £456/567.36 for the 128GB model. It comes in Gunmetal (not Graphite) and Soft Gold color options.
If you are going to buy the device via O2 plans then for 64GB OnePlus 3T variant you can get a £31 per month plan with 500 minutes, unlimited texts, and 500MB of data. Or pay £42 per month for unlimited minutes, 5GB of data, and texts. In both cases, there is also an upfront cost of £9.99 for the smartphone. However, the 64GB smartphone is available for $439, and 128GB comes with $479 price tag.
OnePlus 3T Design and Display
In terms of looks, the standard version OnePlus 3 and latest version OnePlus 3T both come with a premium design, wrapped in a metal uni-body, looks trendy and decent with antenna lines. The company hasn’t made any changes in the design, but still it looks good. The smartphone resembles to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s, it has attracted those people who love to own gorgeous smartphones.
Both OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones feature the same 5.5 inch full-HD (1920x1080, 401ppi) Optic AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 4. The display quality is very good and offer decent color reproduction.
OnePlus 3T Specifications
The company jumped from Snapdragon 820 to Snapdragon 821 for OnePlus 3T, the latest processor works 2 times faster, GPU is 5% improved, comes with 3 times faster LTE. The OnePlus 3T comes with two storage capacity versions such as 64 and 128GB, while the standard model is available only in 64GB storage. The overall performance of the device is faster and efficient than the OnePlus 3.
The OnePlus 3T has 6GB of RAM just like its predecessor and both mobiles runs efficiently. The 6GB RAM doesn’t surprise consumers anymore because Galaxy C9 Pro also comes with 6GB RAM whereas the OnePlus was the first company to launch a smartphone with 6GB RAM.
It comes with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box while the OnePlus 3 runs Android 6.0 out of the box. The fingerprint scanner is embedded on its home button and it is much quicker at recognizing your digits and unlocking the phone. The weight and size of both OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T is same both come with dual SIM option.
OnePlus 3T Camera
The OnePlus 3T has switched from 8MP selfie camera to 16MP Samsung 3P8SP selfie camera. Selfie lovers will definitely enjoy the smartphone because it captures quality pictures with bright and sharp colors. The main camera is 16MP which comes with additional features such as EIS and sapphire glass lens protection. The rear camera has different filters which transform a picture into a good one.
OnePlus 3T Battery
The battery is also improved from 3000 mAh to 3400 mAh, the latest variant has a 3400 mAh battery with support of fast battery charging which charge the battery 60% in 30 min. The improved battery is believed to provide more power and let the device turn on for long hours.
