Nougat comes to Galaxy S7 and Edge

Android platform has dominated the entire smartphone market with nifty features and a unique “customize to your desire” approach. Throughout its evolution, the Android Developers have made sure to bring updates that turn your touch screen phone into a true Smartphone with efficiency and accessibility that has won so many hearts.

The latest update of the platform is version 7.0, Code name Nougat. Many new devices now run on the newer 7.1.1 update directly out of the box with some older devices being updated to Nougat everyday. Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have finally joined the Nougat playground.

According to the official changelog, Android 7.0 will be available for the Samsung devices mentioned above. With the new platform, many of the Samsung’s proprietary features will have a facelift too. These include

●      New User interface; Grace TouchWiz

●     Revamped notifications with better usability and quick settings button

●     Enhanced multi window feature

●     Improved system settings and features for “Always-on” display

●     Tweaked system clean-up options with better storage usage, system update speed and application installation

 

For those who were signed up for the Nougat Beta program, the final stable update will be a 214MB download and will be given a preference over the rest and unlocked phones will be next in line. Updates to carrier phones will be last as they require additional application installation but it will be there nonetheless.
